The Holiday Season is upon us, and at Vitalia North Royalton, we are celebrating in a big way! Many of our residents spent decades creating memorable holiday traditions with their families. Throughout the season, we intend to create moments that celebrate all sorts of traditions. With the goal of helping our residents feel at home during the holiday season. Moments like these are what make this time of year extra special.
Last year, we celebrated the holidays with 45 days of cheer. This year, we’re going even bigger with a whopping 46 Days of Holiday Cheer! We’ve made several exciting additions we can’t wait to enjoy. A beautiful new tree, which served as the centerpiece of our Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony. We planted the tree on the grounds of our community. On December 14th, we broke out our favorite dip recipes for a Dipmas Party!
While there are some new and exciting additions to this year’s traditions. We’re thankful for the moments that will be spent celebrating our beloved traditions from years past. Among our favorites are sharing snowflake blessings, toasting hot cocoa drinks during our Marshmallow World Happy Hour, and singing Christmas carols throughout the community. We also continued our intergenerational Story Corner with a reading of “Here Comes Hanukkah.”
While many days are behind us, the holiday cheer continues through the end of December and into the first week of January. This allows our residents to enjoy plenty of classic Holiday traditions. Our community team and Arrow Senior Living created these new and exciting moments. To round out the 46-day extravaganza. The culinary team will take us on a memorable daily dining experience. Each day, highlight dishes themed around the 12 Days of Christmas!
Of the 46 Days of Holiday Cheer, my favorite to celebrate with the residents was the Holiday Tree Lighting! It was such a beautiful night of people being together. The anticipation of the holiday season was bubbling over, and it was the first of many fabulous holiday parties. Our community had so much fun, welcoming guests and vendors, and we hosted a charity auction, raising over $400 for the Salvation Army, and enjoying live entertainment. It placed the whole point of the holidays at the center; it’s about surrounding oneself with people and making things special. I’m already looking forward to how we can make this event even more successful in the years to come. It truly is a blessing to bring these types of events to life.
The Christmas season has always been special to me, and I look forward to it each year. It’s about spending time with the people you love, creating memories, and remembering the reason for the season with a joyful heart. I’ve always looked forward to the spirit of Christmas. My mom inspired me as a little girl to be Santa Claus to others because Santa Claus is laughing, loving, and giving. As the Resident Services Director, I embody that Santa Claus spirit. Not only during the holidays but also carry a little of that joyful Christmas spirit all year round. The residents at Vitalia have become such an essential part of my life. I look forward to creating a little magic in their day-to-day lives, allowing me to laugh, love, and give all year round.
