Creating a Thriving Workplace Culture

Category: Culture & Traditions

Author: Bethany Sara, Business Office Director

In today’s fast-paced world of healthcare, we realize the importance of creating a positive workplace culture. Here at Vitalia North Royalton, we understand to achieve this culture, employees must trust their workplace.

Each August, Vitalia North Royalton participates in the Great Place to Work Survey. This is a time when staff can be open and honest about their feedback. A third party collects the data, ensuring it remains truly anonymous. It is so important for us to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly to know what we can work on to truly make our community a great place to work.

As the Business Office Director, I prioritize employee appreciation by consistently recognizing our hard-working team members. I believe that work shouldn’t be a routine you go through each day only to return the next day for more of the same. Fun and a bit of silliness are essential, and my staff can vouch for that! I firmly believe the way to someone’s heart is through their stomach, so I ensure our team is always well-treated.

Creating a Fun and Engaging Workplace Culture:
Our Secret to Thriving

However, whether it’s department heads competing for the best dish with staff as the judges, enjoying a Taco Tuesday bar, serving themed goodies at employee Town Halls, or keeping a secret stash of candy in my office. I’m always ready to sweeten the deal. Boring staff in-services? Not on my watch! We kick off staff meetings with laughter and engaging games; if there’s a theme, you’ll find me in costume.

Most importantly, I listen to understand what our employees need to make this a great place to work. By taking their day-to-day feedback seriously, I’m committed to creating an environment where everyone feels valued and excited to be here.

We believe that when work is made fun, it fosters a workplace culture where people thrive. This culture promotes retention, making us a great place to work, which in turn, makes us a great place to live.
