Can residents join community events and outings?
Yes. The team tailors events and small outings to residents’ interests and energy levels. Engagement is offered throughout the day to reduce long periods of inactivity and to encourage gentle social connection.
Can you accommodate special diets?
Yes. The team supports medical needs, cultural preferences, personal choice, and changing dining needs with a flexible, person-centered approach. This may include modified textures and other dietary accommodations that support dignity, enjoyment, and quality of life.
When can I visit?
Families are always welcome, with no set visiting hours, because connection is an important part of well-being. At the same time, we strive to maintain a comfortable and supportive environment for all residents. The team may suggest the best times to visit based on the resident’s routine, preferences, and comfort.
How will you update me?
Memory Care Directors provide regular weekly updates on well-being, engagement, and meaningful changes. In urgent situations, families are notified promptly, with open communication maintained throughout the process.
How do you manage behaviors/expressions?
The team views behaviors as communication and responds by considering each resident’s history, preferences, routines, and unmet needs. Support includes empathy, redirection, meaningful engagement, a calm environment, and ongoing training in dementia care and non-pharmacological approaches.
How are medical emergencies handled?
In a medical emergency, the trained team responds immediately, provides first aid as needed, and calls 911 when emergency services are required. Team members remain with the resident, share information with responders, notify family promptly, and complete ongoing CPR and first aid training.
What is your staffing ratio?
The memory care neighborhood is staffed above state-required standards, with at least two dedicated Support Partners on-site at all times and a Memory Care Director providing oversight. Depending on the community, a cook or homemaker may also be part of the daily team to support engagement and personalized care.
Does [name] offer resources for families of memory care residents?
Yes. Families can receive education, guidance, and support resources, including Arrow Senior Living’s Thoughtful Connections Memory Care podcast.
Are pets allowed in memory care?
Pet guidelines vary by situation. The team evaluates pet compatibility, safety, and the resident’s needs to determine whether a companion animal is a good fit for the neighborhood.
What is included in pricing?
Pricing reflects the apartment or suite, the memory care program, daily support from Support Partners, dining, 3 snacks per day, and salon services. The care-based assessment determines the level of support. A team member can provide a detailed, personalized estimate.
